Bangon Batangas Campaign | Community Project

IT’S BEEN A YEAR.

Last year, the Philippines welcomed 2020 with the catastrophic eruption of the Taal Volcano in Batangas on January 12. The ash emission from Taal blanketed much of Southern Tagalog and reached Metro Manila. It has affected thousands of families and caused millions-worth of damage just days after the initial eruption.

As Taal Volcano continues to show signs of activity, me and my cousins did not hesitate to volunteer and extend our helping hands to our fellow Batanguenos. I spent my day off joining the relief operations - collecting donations (cash and in-kind), distributing relief goods and assisting hundreds of displaced residents in the evacuation center.  Since I can't be there all the time because of my job, I constantly shared vital pieces of information through the social media such as emergency contacts, how to create an improvised mask, specific locations of the evacuation centers and other stuff that might help the public to be kept informed about the necessary information that they need in those trying times.

A year after the Philippines' deadliest volcano blew up, I decided to come up with this community development / charity project called "Bangon Batangas" that aims to help the affected residents of Batangas specifically the survivors of the Taal eruption to cope and rise from the ashes of the past in order to start a better and safer life, healing their blunt bruises from their devastating experiences. This project is ideally in cooperation with the Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office of Batangas.

Below are the materials that I designed for "Bangon Batangas Project".
